Cathy Carey, artist and art instructor, has written a book called The Philosophy of Color which she uses in this video to explain the basic techniques and ideas of color theory. In Part I, she covers the following vocabulary terms: atmospheric perspective, hue, primary color, secondary color, tertiary color, complimentary color, focal point, neutralized color, analogous color.

Originally from the east coast, Carey now calls Escondido her home where she has her studio. Her paintings have won numerous awards in juried shows and have been in galleries in Virginia and California.
