Laura Johnston Kohl joined the Peoples Temple in 1970 and was an active and enthusiastic member until the day it ended. On November 18, 1978, 914 members of the Peoples Temple died in Jonestown, Guyana. Laura was one of 87 survivors. This is her story of survival.

Laura is an author as well as a public speaker about the Peoples Temple and is on the Speakers' Bureau of the Jonestown Institute. Her book, "Jonestown Survivor: An Insider's Look" was published in 2010. Find it in our catalog.
